Final draft of petition to the New York State Legislature for charter to a corporation to conduct a whaling, fishing, and candlemaking business at Cold Spring, and the final draft of the act presented to the Legislature, 1838; handwritten copy of the bylaws of the Cold Spring Whaling company adopted November 13, 1838, and minutes of a meeting of the company's trustees signed by William Jones, Henry R. Willis, Samuel J. Underhill, and Richard M. Conklin. Also, letters from John H. Jones to Walter R. Jones discussing the ships Matilda and James Fairley, and other business plans, 1830; expense sheet for "The Sloop Peruvian for Barque Monmouth" and a note and voucher dealing with the Monmouth, 1838.
